How to downgrade from LiteSpeed Enterprise to OpenLiteSpeed

Accidentally upgraded to LiteSpeed Enterprise or wanted to test some features on LiteSpeed Enterprise but realized that this is not worth the money. Then realized that you can't downgrade from LiteSpeed Enterprise to OpenLiteSpeed without a complete reinstall?

No worries. We got you covered.

This is how to downgrade from LiteSpeed Enterprise back to OpenLiteSpeed.

If you are running on Fedora/ CentOS based OS, use this command to list the available OpenLiteSpeed version.

yum –showduplicates list openlitespeed

If you are running on Debian/ Ubuntu based OS, use this.

apt-cache policy openlitespeed

Here is some example from CentOS Distro

[root@TEST misc]# yum –showduplicates list openlitespeed

Then downgrade to OpenLiteSpeed.
If you are running on Fedora/CentOS-based OS, use this command below.

yum downgrade openlitespeed

If you are running on Debian/Ubuntu-based OS, use this command below.

apt install openlitespeed=(OpenLiteSpeed version from command above)
Example: apt install openlitespeed=1.7.16-1+focal

CyberPanel phpMyAdmin | the file size exceeded the maximum size

No data was received to import. Either no file name was submitted, or the file size exceeded the maximum size permitted by your PHP configuration. See FAQ 1.16.

If you face this issue while trying to import your SQL files, and have no idea where to configure your PHP limit.

Here is the easiest way to configure your CyberPanel phpMyAdmin limit.

As of the time this tutorial is written, CyberPanel's phpMyAdmin is using PHP 7.3's configuration.

To change CyberPanel's phpMyAdmin's limit, simply go to your CyberPanel's home > PHP > Edit PHP Configs.

Select PHP 7.3 and change the upload_max_filesize and post_max_size to a suitable value.

Don't forget to click Save Changes and Restart PHP when you are done to save and apply the changes.

You should now have a higher phpMyAdmin's import limit.

CyberPanel SSL not working | Self-signed SSL

Getting a self-signed SSL when you are supposed to get a trusted certificate is annoying. The used to be seamless process suddenly got so hard. No further worries, as someone who faced this exact issue, let me teach you how to fix it.

CyberPanel will install a self-signed SSL when you fail to generate a trusted certificate.

I got this fixed after updating my CyberPanel to the latest version using this command. Make sure you are logged in as root user in order for this to work.

sh <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/usmannasir/cyberpanel/stable/preUpgrade.sh 1 || wget -O – https://raw.githubusercontent.com/usmannasir/cyberpanel/stable/preUpgrade.sh 1)

After updating your CyberPanel, I also updated the ACME SSL Client.

wget -O – https://get.acme.sh | sh

Restart CyberPanel

systemctl restart lscpd

With CyberPanel and ACME SSL Client updated, try reissuing the SSL certificate. This should work now.

If this still does not help you, consider checking

Your domain's A record settings
Is your domain's A record pointed to the correct address?

To check your domain's DNS propagation, use https://dnschecker.org/
If the IP address is showing the correct server IP address, you should be good.

Directory permissions
Check your directory's permission. Let's Encrypt Authority verifies the owner of your domain by going to this directory http:///.well-known/acme-challenge
Make sure they have sufficient permission to be accessed by Let's Encrypt Authority.
( Chmod OTHER have READ permission )

To do that, you can head to the CyberPanel > Your Website > File Manager > Fix Permission

CyberPanel | Error message: Blacklisted domain.

When I was trying to create a website account with CyberPanel, I got this Error message: Blacklisted domain.

Error message: Blacklisted domain.

I thought my domain was blacklisted, so I went on a search on the domain blacklist checker to check if the new domain that I just purchased is blacklisted.
However, the records are clean, even after checking on multiple domain blacklist checkers it still turns out clean.
This got me frustrated until I found out that Cyberpanel has a line of code that prevents the domain from being the same as the server's hostname.

BlackList = [ socket.gethostname(), 'hotmail.com', 'gmail.com', 'yandex.com', 'yahoo.com', 'localhost', 'aol.com', 'apple.com','cloudlinux.com', 'email.com', 'facebook.com', 'gmx.de', 'gmx.com', 'google.com','hushmail.com', 'icloud.com', 'inbox.com', 'imunify360.com', 'juno.com', 'live.com', 'localhost.localdomain','localhost4.localdomain4', 'localhost6.localdomain6','mail.com', 'mail.ru', 'me.com','microsoft.com', 'mxlogic.net', 'outlook.com', 'protonmail.com', 'twitter.com', 'yandex.ru']

The culprit, in this case, is socket.gethostname(). This line will prevent your server's hostname to be used as a website account.

Option 1

To get this fixed, simply delete socket.gethostname() from acl.py which is located in this directory.

/usr/local/CyberCP/plogical/

If it is on a different directory, you can search it with this line of command.

find . -name 'acl.py'

Alternatively, you can also use this one line code to get this fixed. ( Make sure your CyberPanel's location is in the same directory )

sed -i 's/socket.gethostname(), //' /usr/local/CyberCP/plogical/acl.py

Option 2
You can also get this fixed by changing the hostname of your server.
To change your server's hostname, use this command

hostname

After changing your server's hostname, restart your CyberPanel

systemctl restart lscpd

After completing either of those steps, try creating your website account again.
